Chilean Miner Hopes To Inspire With Marathon Finish

An Ethiopian won the New York City Marathon, but a Chilean was the star of the race: Edison Pena, one of the miners rescued last month, trained 2,300 feet underground, in the tunnels of the collapsed mine. His running shoes were sawed-off work boots, and running, Pena says, was his salvation those 69 days. In Sunday's race he ran, walked and hobbled to the finish. He said he hoped to inspire others to "transcend their own pain."
