FBI Searches UPS Planes For Suspicious Packages
The FBI was looking into a series of possible suspicious packages on three UPS planes that landed in the U.S. on Friday morning from Europe. A UPS delivery truck in Brooklyn also was being swept for explosives.
All the packages originated from Yemen, law enforcement officials said.
Officials told NPR that authorities don't yet know what they have and no explosives have been discovered so far, but the tests were ongoing.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said U.S. and foreign agencies identified two suspicious packages originating from Yemen on planes in Dubai and in East Midlands in the United Kingdom on Thursday night. Those searches triggered Friday's searches on cargo flights at airports in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
